United to Save Lives Blood Drive
United Way of Bay County is teaming up with the Great Lakes Bay regional United Ways and Versiti Blood Bank to host a “United to Save Lives” Community Blood Drive!
Every summer, blood centers across the country face a familiar struggle. With schools out, regular blood drives pause. Families travel, routines shift, and giving blood slips down the priority list. Yet the need never takes a vacation. Hospitals still require blood for surgeries, trauma care, and cancer treatments. Lives still depend on the generosity of donors. But as appointments go unfilled and shelves grow bare, the gap between need and supply widens.
With Versiti teaming up with regional United Ways, we are able to fill in the gaps of the loss of regular drives and promote giving blood to our partners, donors, and volunteers!
United Way of Bay County will host 2 drives in coordination with this partnership, one on June 13th at the Bay County Authority Building from 9 AM to 3 PM, and the second on August 13th at Bay City Hall from 9 AM to 3 PM. For every 25 donors, Versiti will donate back to local United Ways to help provide other life-saving resources and services in our communities.
Together, we can fill the blood shortage gap this summer and invest back into our local communities!
