Increasing Community Impact

United Way of Bay County is Now Serving Arenac, Bay and Tuscola Counties

On September 1, 2026, we announced that United Way of Bay County is growing to serve an expanded region, allowing us to reach more individuals and families and make a greater impact on the critical issues facing our communities.
Our name, United Way of Bay County, will remain unchanged. To reflect our expanded service region, our brand now includes a new tagline: Serving Arenac, Bay & Tuscola Counties.

While our reach is growing, our commitment to local communities remains at the heart of our work. Donor generosity will continue to support local needs, while our expanded organization will have greater capacity to turn those investments into meaningful impact across the region.

As we took a strategic look at our goals and future, we began exploring what it would look like to merge with United Way of Tuscola County and acquire Arenac County zip codes in an effort to create greater impact across the region. By bringing the strengths, resources, and expertise together from the three communities, the expanded organization will be better positioned to respond to evolving community needs, strengthen partnerships, and invest in long-term solutions that improve lives.

By serving an expanded region, we will be able to reach even more individuals and families and have a greater impact on the critical issues our communities face. Additionally, as the needs of our region continue to evolve this expansion positions us to respond more effectively.

Beginning with the 2026 campaign, donations will support individuals, families, and nonprofits across all three counties, however, you can still choose to have your donation designated to specific nonprofits or to a community-specific general fund for an individual county.
