Meet Danielle

In their words...

“My name is Danielle, I am a stay-at-home mom. My family situation has placed us in a space where we make too much money to receive assistance, but not enough money to wipe the struggles away. I'm a mother to a child with autism and complex feeding needs. One of his high preferreds is fresh berries, which is a bill in itself. It can be very expensive.

Years ago we received vouchers for a fruit market, and I was online looking for those vouchers again and I ran across the Food Forward program. It said that it was at capacity and wasn't taking anymore but allowed an application. And within a month, we received our PECS card to Jack's

I am so grateful for this program because I no longer have to make the choices or decision to put my family's nutrition needs on the back burner in order to feed my son.”

ALICE stands for Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed.
It's used as a way to define the population of people who earn above the Federal Poverty Level, receiving very little to no government assistance, while still struggling to make ends meet.
