Meet Linda

In their words...

"Hi, my name is Linda. I want to express my sincere gratitude to United Way for the way they helped me and my family. Due to an unexpected increase in our water bill, we were unable to make the payment, and our water was shut off. Being a single mother of three and living on a fixed income due to a disability has been challenging and makes it difficult to keep up with the rising cost of living.

Our family was without water for over a week, and we had no way to shower. On top of that, my SNAP benefits were also reduced, which left us without enough food in our home. I also struggled to have enough gas in my car to transport my children where they needed to go.

I felt like I had nowhere to turn. I tried to get assistance from multiple agencies, but nobody was able to help us. I was finally referred to United Way. Within a matter of days, they were able to help get our water turned back on and connected us with food resources in the community.

I am so grateful for their generosity, kindness and the impact they have had on my life and the lives of my children."
