In 2025, the United Way of Bay County’s The Longest Table presented by Dow was once again proved to be more than just a shared meal—it was a powerful reminder of what community truly means.

Stretching through the heart of Uptown Bay City, The Longest Table brought together over 330 Bay County residents from all walks of life: families, students, seniors, business leaders, and nonprofit partners, all came together to share a meal at one long table. The event created a space where conversations flowed freely, barriers were broken, and new connections were formed, and turned into our Longest Table yet!

For many, it was their first time sitting beside someone they might never have met otherwise. Stories were exchanged, ideas were sparked, and a sense of belonging was felt by all.

The significance of the event lies in its simplicity and impact. In a time when division can feel overwhelming, the Longest Table offered unity. It reminded the community that everyone has a story worth hearing and a seat at the table.

As one guest put it: “It’s not just about food. It’s about connection. And that’s what makes Bay County stronger.”

This event would not be possible without the help from our committee members, volunteers, staff, vendor’s including Vinny’s Pizzeria, and sponsors including Dow, Michigan Sugar Company, Consumers Energy, Huntington Bank, Cumulus Media, Members First Credit Union, Mid-Michigan Now, Blue Cross Complete, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and all other table sponsors.

We already can’t wait until next year’s Longest Table, hoping to stretch it even further down Uptown Drive!
