Arenac County Emergency Food and Shelter Funding Request
Agency must complete a separate application for each type of EFSP Request.

Arenac County will receive $9,743 for Phase 41 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program. This is part of a congressional grant for emergency food and shelter programs across the nation. Any non-profit, faith based or local government agency that provides food and shelter services may apply for funds under this program. The EFSP Local Board will meet immediately to evaluate applications and make awards under the program.

The submission of an application does not guarantee that the organization will receive grant money. Your application will be considered and determined by the committee during review. Follow up will be required after this determination.

In order to receive funds, an agency must:

  • Be a non-profit, faith-based, or local government agency that provides food and/or shelter services
  • If they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board
  • Have an accounting system
  • Practice non-discrimination
  • Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/ or shelter programs
  • Any agency receiving funds will be required to submit an EFSP Report to the Local Board on numbers of clients served, service provided and funds expensed at six months and year end of the funding cycle
  • All clients must be Arenac County residents

  • Board of Directors membership listing and indicate meeting dates/locations
  • If gross receipts are less than $25,000, agency must submit a copy of most recent 990. If budget for most recent fiscal year
  • Annual Report
  • If this is your first time requesting EFSP funding, attach a copy of your IRS tax determination letter
