The United Way of Bay County is working to improve the health & safety for individuals and families by reducing instances of domestic violence and substance use as well as increasing access to mental health services. The 2018 Bay County Health Assessment shows that 1 in 5 people in the workplace have some form of mental illness and that Bay County's 11.9% domestic violence rate is higher than the State of Michigan average of 9.2%.
