Building Stronger Communities Through Trusted Partnerships

What is an Impact Partner?

United Way of Bay County has a vision: that every person in our community is thriving. We work to create long-lasting change that inspires hope and creates opportunities for a better tomorrow by bringing people together who share the same goals and work together on solutions that no single organization can solve alone. Through a community assessment, the most urgent needs are identified in the focus areas of youth opportunity, healthy community, financial security and community resiliency- the building blocks for a good life.

The UWBC Community Investment Grant is a process that allows applicants to demonstrate how their project or program aligns with the identified priority areas and has the most potential to achieve the UWBC impact goals.

How does the Grant process work?

United Way of Bay County’s Community Investment Grant process is designed to ensure that local funding supports programs that make a measurable impact in the areas of youth opportunity, healthy community, financial security, and community resiliency.

1. Application Period Opens
Nonprofit organizations serving Bay County are invited to apply for funding. Applications typically include details about the program, target population, goals, and expected outcomes.

2.
Eligibility Review
United Way staff reviews all submissions to ensure they meet basic eligibility criteria, such as nonprofit status, alignment with United Way’s focus areas, and service to Bay County residents.

And then what happens?

3. Community Panel Investment Committee Review
Once your application is submitted, and eligibility is confirmed, the Community Panel Investment Committee (made up of volunteers from stakeholders in the community) will review your application. They will assess the program's impact, effectiveness, financial health, and alignment with current community needs.

4. Presentations
All eligible applicants will be contacted to schedule a presentation for the Community Panel Investment Committee. This will also allow for members of the committee to ask questions.

How will I know if my program is funded?

5. Funding Recommendations

Based on the Community Panel Investment Committee's evaluations, funding recommendations are made to United Way’s Board of Directors for final approval in March 2026.

6. Grant Awards & Reporting
Selected organizations who are chosen to receive funding for the 2026-2028 grant cycle will be notified in April 2026. Funding will begin July 1.
Funded organizations are then required to submit yearly progress reports of their programs to demonstrate their impact and accountability.
