Bay Arenac Call Center

May 17, 2008 - The Bay Arenac Call Center will be participating in Make a Smart Move March and Rally from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County.  This free event provides activities for the entire family including: a health and safety fair, balloon send-off, raffle, lunch and anti-drug march and rally.

June 13, 2008 - United Way of Bay County invites you to participate in the 6th Annual Golf a Day for United Way at the Maple Leaf Golf Course, sponsored by Bay Regional Medical Center.  All proceeds will benefit the United Way's Bay Arenac Call Center, which linked over 3,800 callers to the resources they needed last year.

American Dream Initiative:

Programs Receive Increase in Funds:

All total, United Way will provide $856,184  in funding to address community issues in the next year. “When you combine the panel investment amounts to partner agencies, grant funds for seniors and adults and the American Dream, it will result in a $70,900 increase in funding to programs this year as compared to last year’s investment amounts.” stated Jennifer Carroll, CEO/Executive Director.

Partner Agency Investment Process:

48 Investment Volunteers from various businesses and organizations in the community recently finished their review of Partner Agency Proposals and recommended funding awards based on the quality of each program and its ability to quantitatively measure results.  The volunteers' recommendations will go to the Board of Directors for final approval in March.

United Way would like to recognize the following investment volunteers who received awards at the February 26 Investment Breakfast:

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Eastern Market Day Trip Planned:

May 17, the RSVP will be hosting a one day trip to Eastern Market in Detroit. The transportation, provided by Mitchell Coach Lines, will depart from the south parking lot of the Bay Community Center at 8:00 am.  Upon arrival to the Eastern Market individuals will be allowed to shop on their own with a departure time of 4:00 pm. The cost of the trip is $49 with dinner at Beef Carvers included in the cost.  For more information or to RSVP your spot please contact Cathy at 893.6060 ext. 18.

Volunteer Resource Center

Volunteering Online Resource:

The Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) provides a free service, 1-800-volunteer.org, an electronic center for volunteerism throughout Bay County.  We help volunteers find opportunities, connect non-profit organizations with resources and assist businesses with their community involvement efforts.
